BEING AT THE RIGHT PLACE
2 Samuel 11: 2 "And it came in the evening, that David arose from his bed; and walked upon the roof of the King's house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon."
This was the story of King David and Bathsheba. You can see in the first verse of the chapter that the children of Israel were at battle with the people of Ammon. But King David stayed backed as the verse clearly stated, he tarried still in Jerusalem. Where as, he was supposed to be at the war front giving orders to his soldiers. Immediately, the devil set in, because he was at the wrong place at that time. Assuming David was leading the battle at that time, he wouldn't have been on the roof, let alone see a woman taking her bath.
This lead King David to commit the sin of 'Adultery'. What his eyes saw was taken to heart. He polluted his mind. The eyes of the Lord (the Holy Spirit) can not be hold sin or iniquity; He was grieved and departed from King David that minute, because the Bible tells us in Colossians 3:2 that; We should set our affections on things above not on things on earth, let alone having feelings or passion to lay with another man's wife. We were also told from this one sin, King David was led to many more including, murdering the woman's husband (Uriah). We should learn to dwell in God's presence at all times, if we will continue to have access and enjoy the supernatural, or operate in the supernatural where the grace of God abounds.
How can we operate under Divine Direction: Maximise your mind (soul).
- Obedience to the Word of God; allowing the Holy Spirit to lead you at all times.
- Being at the right place at all times: Don't go to places that will not glorify the name of God. Maximise your senses; be careful to what you hear or listen to, (Mark 4:24, James 1:19).
- Rule your Body: Take charge of your body Proverbs 29:11 (mouth). The leg should be in agreement with the ear, don't go where is not necessary, (Proverbs 4:24, Matthew 6:22).
- Above all control your eyes: ( 2 Corinthians 3:18, Proverb 4:25, James 30:31-33).
- Studying the Word of God Always.
- Meditating constantly on the Word of God (Joshua 1:8).
- Thanks giving, Praise and worship to God.
- Love or charity (Proverbs 19:20).
- The presence of the Holy Spirit.
- Wisdom and Knowledge (Hosea 4:6, Daniel 11:32).
- You will have a Spirit of Excellence (Daniel 4:18).
- Bold speaking and Confidence in the Lord (Joshua 1:6).
- Seed time and Harvest (Gen 8:20-28)
- Tithe and Offering
- Stewardship
- Giving alms to the poor
- Love
- Prophet offering
- Discipleship
- Be addicted to the Word of God
- Work in integrity (Proverbs 11:3, Job 1:1)
- Consistency (Galatians 6:9)
- Evangelism ( Matthew 28:18-20)
Thank God King David repented of his sin, when he was confronted by the prophet of God and asked for his forgiveness. If you will turn on to God this minute and ask God to forgive you. He's Just and Faithful to forgive you now. He will redeem you with the Blood of Jesus Christ shed at the cross of calvary for the salvation of your soul. Come unto him now, you will not regret it, you will be saved instantly. The Word of God said in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes in him, should not perish but have eternal life". My dear, this is a faithful saying, I have tasted it and I AM SAVED. Come and be saved! And you'll be transformed to a New Creature.
PRAYER: (Ephesians 1:17-20)
The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, May give to me the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation in the knowledge of him, the eyes of my understanding be enlightened, that I may know what is the hope of his calling, the riches of the Glory of his inheritance in the saints; and the exceeding greatness of his power towards me as I believe, according to the working of His mighty power which he worked in Christ Jesus, When he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places. Amen.
God Bless, Jesus is Lord!
